Selecting Your Inspector
Commercial Building and Home Inspector Ralph D’Angelo, CPI
When purchasing real estate, you may be likely to say that having the property inspected is the most important step. In fact, it’s not. Your foremost priority is to evaluate the person you will pay to inspect it! Your home or commercial building inspection will be done personally by the owner, Ralph D’Angelo, who has a B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology. In Pennsylvania, the minimum education to be a Home Inspector or a Commercial Building Inspector is only a high school diploma. Most buyers, and unfortunately even Realtors and Attorneys, are unaware of these minimal requirements.
After attending Drexel University and Spring Garden College in Philadelphia, Mr. D’Angelo acquired Engineering and Construction Management experience with Centex & Toll Brothers Home Builders, Bechtel Engineers, and Atlas Building Systems.
As a real estate investor and contractor, he also has practical hands-on experience in construction and real estate. Mr. D’Angelo is one of the first inspectors to be certified by the PA Department of Environmental Protection (Cert.#224) to perform Radon Testing. He has served as past Treasurer of the the PA Association of Accredited Building Inspectors (PAABI). He also holds a PA Real Estate License & a PA Contractor’s License.
Ralph uses a state-of-the-art reporting software that allows him to provide you with a detailed report, complete with pictures and comments, guaranteed to please both clients and real estate professionals alike. In your report, he will point out any issues and recommend what actions to take to resolve any concerns. Armed with this knowledge, you will be able to make a confident and well-informed decision regarding your investment.
